Tim playing acoustic guitar

Biography

I learnt guitar as a teenager with the help of a tutor, and later trained at Barnsley Music College. For over twenty years I've played rock, blues, and metal. When I worked as an activities coordinator in a care home in Sheffield I used my guitar skills to entertain residents. In 2012 I recorded an EP, The Potter's Clay, a musical expression of my Christian life.

In 2013 I moved to North Carolina with my wife. Initially I performed a lot of covers and my own songs at open mic nights and set up my own business Tim Griff Music as a guitar teacher and performer in Raleigh, NC, but I stopped this in early 2014 to pursue other things. I'm now writing and recording an original concept album with a friend, as well as managing a local, independent burger bar.
